Silverstein MicroWick™ Drug Delivery System
For The Direct Treatment Of Inner Ear Disease1
The Silverstein MicroWick is intended as a delivery system for treatment
fluids to the middle ear for patients with ear disorders. In this procedure, which
can be performed in the office, the physician places the MicroWick through
a special tympanic membrane vent tube and directs it to the round window membrane
or orifice of the eustachian tube. The Wick inserts easily before hydration and
locks securely in place after hydration. With hydration, medication applied to
the MicroWick is transported directly to the round window membrane and to the
fluids of the inner ear or the orifice of the eustachian tube. Patients can continue
daily self-treatments at home by placing medication into the ear canal.
This Proprietary Product Provides
- A simple inexpensive office procedure
- Self-treatment options for patients (with minimal physician follow-up)
- Excellent clinical results1
