Micromedics Introduces the “New” Touma II T-Tube

Eagan, Minnesota – December 14, 2004 - Micromedics, a privately held manufacturer of medical devices, introduced a new otologic ventilation tube, the Touma II T-Tube. The Touma II T-Tube is the latest addition to Micromedics multitude of choices in ventilation tubes.

What sets the Touma II T-Tube apart from other T-Tubes is it’s wide funnel-shaped outer lumen and flat inner wings. Designed by Joseph Touma, M.D. of Huntington, West Virginia the Touma II T-Tube’s wide full-shaped outer lumen will allow the doctor greater visibility through the tube for examination and suctioning. The unique design of the outer lumen will also minimize clogging and provide better draining. The flat inner wings conform to the inner surface of the tympanic membrane, providing more secure “anchoring”, minimizing premature extrusion. The flat inner wings are also designed to distribute the load-bearing surface over a greater area, reducing permanent perforations.
