New Myringotomy Incision
System Gives Surgeon Options
Eagan, Minnesota – January 12, 2005 - Micromedics, a
privately held manufacturer of medical devices, introduces an innovative blade
and handle design that gives surgeons more flexibility in performing myringotomy
surgery. With the new design, surgeons can choose from five cutting edge configurations,
including the patented Armstrong design, to produce the preferred size and type
of incision. A flexible shaft allows the surgeon to vary the angle of the blade
as needed for superior visibility and access to the surgical site. The new blades
can be used with existing handles.
